Janice obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree(Special) with Distinction in 1983, and her Bachelor of Law Degree from the University of Alberta in 1987. She was admitted to the Alberta Bar in 1988, and has been practicing personal injury law for 19 years, 15 of those with Braithwaite Boyle. Janice is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, and the Alberta Civil Trial Lawyers Association. She has successfully negotiated and mediated hundreds of cases in both the private and judicial context.

Janice is a sponsor of Foster Parents Plan, a sponsor and fund raiser for the Multiple Sclerosis Society, and a sponsor and supporter of the S.P.C.A. She is also a serving executive on the boards and committees of the Old Strathcona Foundation and the Derrick Golf and Winter Club.
