Lawyer Profile: Michael Power
Michael received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with distinction from Saint Mary’s University, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, in 1979 and obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree from Dalhousie Law School, Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1982. He practiced law in Saskatchewan before moving to Edmonton in 2001. He is a member of the Law Society of Saskatchewan (currently non-practicing) and a member of the Law Society of Alberta.
Michael is a past president and director of the Canadian Paraplegic Association, Saskatchewan Division and has served as a member and director of a variety of charitable corporations. He practiced law for several years with Bishop & McKenzie LLP in Edmonton and was senior in-house litigation counsel with the Edmonton Police Service.
Michael is married to Norma Anne and they have two sons. Michael enjoys photography, music, and traveling.
