Stephanie obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree with First Class Standing from the University of Alberta in 1980, and her law degree from the University of Calgary in 1987. She was admitted to the Alberta Bar in 1988. After admission, Stephanie practiced with the Calgary law firms of MacKimmie Matthews and Milne & Company.  Stephanie has been practicing personal injury law for more than 18 years, 14 of those with Braithwaite Boyle.

Stephanie is a board member of the Alberta Civil Trial Lawyers Association and a volunteer with the Edmonton Epilepsy Association. She has coordinated and chaired seminars for the Alberta Civil Trial Lawyers Association and the Legal Education Society of Alberta. She has past associations with the Handicapped Housing Association of Alberta, Calgary Legal Guidance, the Canadian Bar Association, the Calgary Bar Association and the Association of Professional Home Economists.
