KANCHAN BRAICH, BA, LLB.
Kanchan was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Calgary in 2011, majoring in Sociology with a concentration in Criminology, Deviance and Social Control. During her undergraduate studies, Kanchan worked as a Claims Adjuster for one of Canada’s leading insurance companies. In this role, she managed both property damage claims, as well as bodily injury claims.
Upon graduation, Kanchan decided to move away from home for the first time, and attend law school in Canterbury, England, at the University of Kent. She obtained her LL.M degree in 2015 and returned to Calgary. Kanchan articled and began her practice with a start-up firm in Calgary and gained experience in several areas of law including: personal injury law, family law, insurance law, criminal law and immigration.
Kanchan's prior work in the insurance industry, along with her experience practicing personal injury law, led her to join Braithwaite Boyle in 2018, where she is currently an Associate.
Kanchan understands that each and every client is a real person who is facing complex legal and medical issues after being involved in a motor vehicle accident or slip and fall. Kanchan is perfectly positioned to provide the guidance and care required to effectively navigate the legal system and ensure that every client’s needs are met.
Kanchan is a member of the Law Society of Alberta, the Association of Women Lawyers, and the Canadian Bar Association.
Outside of the office, Kanchan enjoys cooking, traveling and spending time with family and friends. Kanchan is fluent in Punjabi.
