KATHERINE BURT, BA, LLB.
Katherine was born and raised in Nova Scotia. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Western Ontario in 1992. In 1996 she graduated from the University of Alberta with
her Bachelor of Laws. After completing her articles at Fraser Milner Casgrain, she was admitted to the Alberta Bar in June of 1997.
Katherine practiced in the Civil Litigation department at FMC for 9 years working on a variety of areas of litigation. She then worked exclusively in Insurance Defence with Dean Duckett prior to joining Braithwaite Boyle in 2009.
Katherine has appeared in Provincial Court, the Court of Queen’s Bench and the Alberta Court of Appeal. She also has extensive experience with alternate dispute resolution and has conducted numerous judicial dispute resolutions and mediations all in an effort to achieve an efficient and fair resolution of claims.
Having worked for both Insurance companies and the injured parties, Katherine has considerable knowledge of personal injury files from both sides of the table. This knowledge assists our clients in reaching fair and reasonable results.
In her spare time, Katherine enjoys golf, Tai Chi, and travelling.
